FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Gov. Andy Beshear has reported 17 more coronavirus-related deaths in Kentucky. It's one of the state's highest one-day totals as Kentuckians combat an escalating outbreak. The state reported 910 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. In the past two days, daily case counts topped 1,000. Beshear says the spike in cases is hitting rural and urban areas. He continues to stress the need to wear masks in public, maintain social distancing and follow other health guidelines to contain the virus. Meanwhile, Beshear released health guidance for Halloween. The guidance says children should wear facial coverings beneath their costumes and large groups with multiple families should be avoided.
