EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets activated wide receiver Jeff Smith from injured reserve and added three players from the practice squad ahead of the team’s game against the Denver Broncos. Defensive back Javelin Guidry was signed to the active roster Thursday and wide receiver Lawrence Cager and defensive back Lamar Jackson were elevated from the practice squad. New York also released quarterback Mike White and cornerback Nate Hairston to make room on the active roster. White's departure means veteran Joe Flacco has fully recovered from offseason neck surgery and will likely be the No. 2 quarterback against the team for which he played last season.
