A Burden for Souls
Podcasts > Faith Answers with Gary Roy
Sunday, October 18, 2026
In this episode of Faith Answers, Pastor Gary Roy opens Nehemiah chapter 1 and challenges believers to develop a true burden for souls. When Nehemiah hears the report of Jerusalem’s broken walls and the great distress of his people, he weeps, fasts, and prays—then rises to action. Pastor Gary draws clear parallels for the church today: we must see the spiritual brokenness around us, feel genuine compassion, and commit ourselves to prayer and practical help.
From personal stories of meeting needs after disaster to the everyday call to share the gospel, this message urges listeners to stop hiding from the need and start carrying one another’s burdens while pointing people to Jesus.
